Advisory Committee

It is an entity established pursuant to the agreement signed between UNESCO and the Government of Bahrain to provide technical advice for planning the program of the center, its implementation, and monitoring.
 
The Advisory Committee is composed of experts, scientists, technicians and legal experts appointed by the Board of Directors of the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage on the basis of recommendations:
 
1. Competent government authorities of Bahrain,
   
2. Member States of the Arab States region as defined in article 1 of the agrrement,
   
3. by the UNESCO Secretariat,
   
4. and by the Advisory Bodies to the world Heritage Committee so designated under the World Heritage Convention:
   
  - International Union for the conservation of Nature (IUCN),
  - International Concil on monuments and Sites (ICOMOS),
  - International Centre for the Study for the Preservation and Restoration of cultural properties (ICCROM),
 
and whose President is appointed by the Board of Directors of the Centre.
