His enrolment is an important step for the recovery of the Centre and the establishment of new partnerships with international institutions working in the field of heritage.
Bouchenaki was Director of the Cultural Heritage Division at UNESCO (1990-2000), Director of the World Heritage Centre (1998-2000), Deputy Director-General for Culture (2000-2006), and Director-General of ICCROM (2006-2011).
